WHAT IS BAC?
BAC stands for Beautiful: African, Arabic, Caribbean. We are a new digital content channel highlighting the most exciting creative voices from Africa, the Arabian Gulf, and the Caribbean.
BAC exists for a simple reason: we are missing out on some of the most beautiful content the world has to offer. Right now, there is nothing less than a media boom taking place in the Caribbean, in Africa, and in the Middle East. And while the singular artistic voices in these regions have the potential to transform the media landscape for the better, they are being ignored by the traditional content channels. That is why we have chosen to create our own.
BAC recognizes that innovation is a necessary part of entertainment. Without fresh voices and perspective, art loses its power. For too long, many of the most promising emerging artists in the world have been overlooked—simply because they don’t live in the right places. This ends now. Looking forward, we will usher in a new era of exposure for most exciting performers and content creators from Caribbean, Africa, and the Middle East. The voices will be theirs. We’re just the microphone.
Aisha D. Davis developed the unique niche of designing creative events that fuse together cultural aesthetics with business objectives. Her portfolio includes art exhibitions, concerts, TV/Video production, event management, and international conferences and expos.
AISHA has created programs that focus on international economic development through the arts, including programs featuring the countries of Egypt, Colombia, Iran, and Nigeria, and with institutions and corporations including The World Bank, Chevron, and Time Warner. AISHA founded the Eastern European Arts and Entertainment Expo, an international cultural event. She was the Editor of the National Bar Magazine; Editor of the Washington Teacher’s Union Magazine (which won an award for new publication); and produced over two dozen art exhibit catalogues.
AISHA has dual citizenship in the United States and Panama. Daughter of Panamanian Olympian Lorraine Dunn Davis and Civil Rights Leader John W. Davis, Aisha is proud of her American and Caribbean heritage. Her great-grandparents hail from Jamaica, Dominique and Saint Lucia.
AISHA is a graduate of Princeton University. Her board participation has included Cultural Development Corporation; DuPont Underground; the Greater Washington Urban League; City Dance Ensemble; and the Parish Council of St. Matthew’s Cathedral. Aisha is a Fellow in the Royal Society of Arts and Fellow of the British-American Project. She is a Dame of Merit in the Constantinian Order of Saint George; a Dame of Magisterial Grace in the Sovereign Military Order of Malta; and was a lector at St. Matthew’s Cathedral in Washington, D.C.
An Executive Producer with over thirty years’ experience, AISHA commands “vision” and “detail”; she combines the creativity of an artist with the management skills of a top-notch producer. This rare combination ensures that her programs reflects both elegance and efficacy.
Whether conceptualizing artistic programs purely for the sake of entertainment or devising cultural events for the purposes of strategic marketing and brand development, AISHA continues to discover new opportunities for creative expression.
